Important Information That You Need To Know About Rolling Road

By Paramount Performance   Posted at  03:01   rolling road tuning No comments
In rail-based transportation, a rolling road is considered to be a combined transport that involves the process of conveying of road trucks through the rail. One can also think of it as a form of piggyback transportation. There are few important things that you must consider about road rolling.

Simulate real world driving
It is not possible for a road rolling to simulate the experience of real world driving. It provides a linear load on a vehicle’s engine by applying reduced pressure from RPMs to redline. The time taken by it is approximately 45 seconds to reach the redline mark.
The continuous load on the turbocharger and an engine will naturally raise intake temperatures beyond the real world driving experience. These temperatures lead the engine to pull in the backward direction and limit the power.
Factors that attributes to rolling performance in a vehicle
It is impossible for a car to show less rolling road performance while giving best power on the street. This is due to several reasons:
  • The fan present in the front region of the car provides a linear air flow to a tiny area of the frontal region of it. Real time driving conditions provide airflow that is directly proportional to the speed. With the increase of the speed, the air flow increases.
  • The fans are pointed at the centre of the vehicle, so several intercoolers are kept on the left and right side of the car and fail to receive adequate cooling effect from the fans. This leads to the air intake temperature to be in accordance with the air temperature in the real world. The higher the temperature, lower will be the power output.
  • Another reason is the heat soak that causes the ECU to go into an EGT “Exhaust Gas Temperature” protection mode. It reduces the requested value of the load and increases the fuel amount to cool things.
Things you need to check at the time of tuning
If you are bringing your car for rolling road tuning, then you must first understand the condition of the car.   Following are the factors that you need to check:
  • Is the car taxed?
  • Is it in the good repair state?
  • Does it need mapping?
  • Does it have adequate fuel in it?
Road rolling offers several advantages to a vehicle owner. It is better to learn about its concept to make its best use.

What Is Rolling Road Tuning - Simple Explanation About The Procedure

By Paramount Performance   Posted at  01:46   rolling road tuning No comments
There was a time when the tuning or even simple work on a vehicle would not have been possible without the involvement of screwdrivers, nuts and bolts, etc. With the improvement of technology, the whole engine system of a car is designed in such a way that even simple tweaks in the engine system can be handled without getting your hands dirty, and this is all thanks to the software.

After making tweaks in the engine system, every vehicle handler or repair shop expert will first take the vehicle on a stroll, so as to make sure that the tuning has worked perfectly. It is the running condition of the vehicle, especially on road, is what going to help the experts understand the necessary adjustments that are yet to be made in the vehicle.

Even though rolling road tuning option is available, it is the on-road condition that will offer clear picture to the experts about the actual results of the tweaking. The friction between road and the wheel along with the vehicle horsepower will surely give out perfect results.

Road Tuning

Friction between road and the car tyres offer clear picture of the vehicle’s condition to the repair experts. Based on this fact, the manufacturers have come up with such rolling road machines, which offer same level of friction for the tyres, as they get when taken for a spin on the road. This will automatically make it easier for the experts to have clear picture of engine systems overall condition, including oil temp, emissions, etc.

How are the Engines Tested?

The vehicles that will be subjected to rolling road tests will be connected to many computer monitors, which display each factor of the engine system in detail.
For instance, if the oil temp of the car is displayed in one monitor, then the engine working system will be displayed on the other, and fuel intake in the other, drag power, wheel power, engine torque, max RPM, etc, in different monitors.
Custom Tuning comes with many options and you can tailor the tweaks as per your requirements. Many automobile service and upgrading centres will help you here.

Three Effective Ways of Taking Good Care of Your Car

By Paramount Performance   Posted at  04:39   tuning No comments
The four wheeled vehicle, that rides all around the city, protecting you from harsh sun, sweat and crowd is your car. How well do you look after her? Washing her body regularly, keeping the mirrors and windscreen spic and span are all good practices that keeps the exterior parts of your car neat, clean and healthy. But how often you open her up and give a complete check-up? When was the last time you checked for brake fluid level, clutch plate damage or even the battery? The interior of the car is its heart and if it stops functioning, your car's market value starts to deteriorate. Here are three ways listed by expert car mechanics which helps you to quickly check the vehicle and estimate damages if any.

Engine Inspection

Engine is the heart of the car. Hence, the engine requires frequent inspection. Along with the engine itself, the complete engine assembly including spark plug, air filters, distribution caps and other parts are required to be inspected. Along with this ECU tuning, rolling road tuning tests should be conducted on the car frequently so that you are not in for any sudden surprise. There are latest software and control system to measure the exact performance during the test and this will tell you the accurate condition of your car.

Emission control check

Cars that one owns should not cause any environmental pollution and shouldn’t also cause any trouble to other passersby. Hence it is mandatory that every car is screened for emission of harmful gas. Generally once in six months the pollution certificate needs to be renewed to meet the standard of the emission control board. This also gives a rough estimate of the state of air filters in the car.

Check the wheel and tyre

Along with engine, another important part that needs regular examination is the wheel assembly that includes tyre also. They need to be checked for air and proper wheel alignment and balancing. This helps the car to have proper balance and also improves fuel efficiency. A regular inspection of the wheels and tyres can save the owner from many troubles and will eradicate half possibility of accidents and other malfunctioning.

If you are aware of these checkpoints, you can take better care of your car! During the inspection if you find any problem you can contact with the experts to get the required services like tuning tests or new parts and accessories for your car.
